This view was taken from the 2nd level of the Eiffel Tower in April of 2005.  I stitched together about 5 different images to create the panorama.  The effect of scrolling side to side is very much like the effect you'd have by standing there.  The sweep is from a north-easterly to a south-easterly view of the city.  I added a couple of labels to the scene to help orient you to what's out there. On a separate page is a view from the Pantheon looking back towards the Tower, again with a couple of landmarks highlighted.

I've got a similar panning view from the hill above and behind the castle at Neuschwanstein.
